Rooted in Scripture. Centered on Christ.
These are the convictions that shape how we live, preach, and love. Not a list of rules — a declaration of what we've staked our lives on.
There is one God, who eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and distinct from one another — yet one in essence, purpose, and glory. The doctrine of God's triune nature is called the Trinity.
Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second Person of the Trinity. On earth, Jesus was fully God and fully man. He is the only One who ever lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, performed miracles, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and is the supernatural Agent in regeneration. He baptizes every believer into the body of Christ, indwells and seals them until the day of redemption. According to Scripture, the Holy Spirit comforts us, teaches us, gives gifts to us, reminds us of everything Jesus has spoken, and leads us into all truth.
The Holy Bible is the authoritative, inspired Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truth. In its original writing, Scripture is inspired, infallible, and inerrant. We teach it, we obey it, and we let it shape everything we do.
God created mankind in His own image and likeness as upright, moral, and spiritual beings. Through voluntary transgression against God's Word, man fell — and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The fall of man caused separation between God and all people, leaving humanity hopeless and in danger of eternal judgment. But God, in His love, did not want anyone to perish, so He sent Christ into the world. The sacrificial death of Jesus and the blood He shed on the cross provide the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation happens when a person places their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a free gift from God — received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned through good works or human effort.
Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new believer is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Baptism is not what saves us — it's the outward declaration of an inward transformation.
A unique time of communion in the presence of God where the elements of bread and the cup (representing the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. We celebrate Communion together as a church family to remember, to examine, and to proclaim the finished work of Christ until He returns.
The Church is the local and global community of believers who acknowledge Jesus as their Savior. The Church is not a location, a religious institution, or a weekly event. The Church is the body of Christ — empowered by the Holy Spirit and made up of born-again believers who carry the divine mission of spreading the Gospel to the whole world. Locally, we gather every week on Sundays and throughout the week in Way Points home groups to worship, pray, grow in the Word, and strengthen one another.
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth a second time to establish His Kingdom. The exact day is undisclosed by Scripture. After this life, unbelievers will be judged by God and eternally separated from Him. Believers will spend eternity with God in conscious, joyful bliss, giving Him praise forever for the victory of overcoming this life — entering into eternal blessing.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
John 14:6
